Futurity & Sweepstakes Information

Any weanling, yearling, and/or two-year-old (with current registration paper or a conditional registration paper) that was entered in the 2024 futurity, regardless of whether or not shown, is eligible for the 2025 WCHS futurity.

For the 2025 WCHS futurity, the horse to be shown must be entered in the class at the 2025 Kentucky State Fair WCHS and pay a $150 entry fee.  If the horse is not being shown in 2025 but intends to keep eligibility for the futurities in the future, the Eligibility Form must be completed and returned to the Kentucky State Fair WCHS office by the WCHS entry closing date of July 2, 2025, with a fee of $150 to be paid annually going forward.

If the horse was not entered in the 2024 futurity, weanlings must either enter the weanling futurity and be shown or complete the eligibility form and pay the fees by entry closing date of July 2, 2025.  The same applies to yearlings and two-year-olds.

Entries for the Bill Wise Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes are eligible if they were entered in the four-year-old Sweepstakes program as a three-year-old.  The entry fee for the Bill Wise Sweepstakes is $250.

To be eligible for the Sweepstakes in 2026, the owner/exhibitor must complete the eligibility form stating the three-year-old’s name, submitting it to the WCHS Horse Show office with a fee of $250 by July 2, 2025.

To enter a horse that was not entered as a three-year-old, you may enter as a “Buy In” for five thousand dollars ($5,000) by March 31, 2026.

Horses entered in the WCHS futurities and sweepstakes are not required to enter any other futurities or sweepstakes.
